Packaging

Packaging that I purchase to wrap and send your orders will as far as possible be recyclable. I use FSC certified cardboard boxes.  Hive wrap as an eco-friendly, cost effective alternative to bubble wrap and it is 100% recyclable and biodegradable.

I have also recently purchased rubber stamps.  These stamps are made from reclaimed vintage oak and the ink pads are vegan friendly (97% recycled plastic and plant based ink).

Any order you receive from me that has plastic or un-recyclable packaging is packaging that I have received and am reusing - no waste right!

Caring for your pottery

Dishwashers

Glaze on ceramics will wear and become dull over time, so to prolong the beauty of the glazes, I would suggest hand washing.  Having said that my pottery is dishwasher safe, but dishwasher chemicals can be very harsh and chipping and cracking can occur during the cycle if pieces knock together, so please bear this in mind.

Microwaves
My pottery is fired at a high temperature so will probably be ok to put in the microwave, but to be on the safe side I would avoid this as I am unable to test this and confirm.

Thermal Shock
Thermal shock can occur when you expose your pottery to rapid temperature changes.  I suggest always warming your mugs with a little hot water before fully filling them. You should let your freshly boiled water cool down a little before filling your mug or cup.
